But, the big what if… what if it rains??? First of all Florida likes to keep everyone on their toes. Every local will tell you there’s almost no way to know what the weather will do- no matter how qualified the meteorologist. Hellooo!! A rainy wedding day story from one of our most recent couples in Melbourne Beach, Fl.
First of all, the original wedding plans fell through because we can all agree 2020 is the equivalent of “He who shall not be named” in Harry Potter. They live in Canada. They got tired of waiting. Beautiful Melbourne Beach, Florida was wide open… All is set super last minute- like, with literally three weeks to spare. Like they got everything locked in within three weeks. I’d call them lucky but I don’t believe in luck. I believe in if it’s meant to be, you find a way. But this couple, like us, knew whatever they put their mind to is what would come to fruition. So! Beach venue with caterers and bartenders booked, arch booked, photographers booked, all other details ready to go, get on that plane south to FINALLY marry the person of your dreams- EXTRA check!!

The next big hurdle: Potential rain on their beach wedding day
No matter how chill and laid back you may be, I’d bet you anything wedding day anxiety will still be felt. Remember when I said “enter your amazing photography duo?” We UNDERSTAND what you’re feeling- We had our ceremony this year. It was not without its challenges- including some rain! We UNDERSTAND all people are different- in this instant I just kept reassuring the bride of things she already knew. I told her that her positive mindset WILL mean that no matter what this day will work out and be the most beautiful day ever. We told them how excited we were to help make all the magic we could happen for them. THAT THEY WERE NOT JUST ANOTHER BOOKING. ANOTHER WEDDING. THAT THEIR DAY MATTERED JUST AS MUCH AS EVERYONE’S DAY BEFORE THEM AND AFTER THEM. (I’m just gonna plug this here real quick. There are vendors that have experienced burn out and when that happens this industry becomes a chore. We do not really fault them when it happens because life is different for all of us. Just make sure whoever you choose CLEARLY cares about you every step of the way. These are the people that create beautiful magic on your day FOR you.) Back to our couple…After understanding who they were/ what they needed hugs were given and nerves calmed. Until the looming weather question finally came up.There were storms all around us. Not ON us- because Florida. But all around us. BIG ones. So what’s a couple who just threw caution to the wind, left their country, was hoping for a beautiful Florida beach wedding to do?? That is the pivotal point you’re gonna want to KNOW you chose the right team. Not just the dream location.

We keep an eye while maintaining our ability to keep capturing your day.
Almost most importantly- we’ve lived here for years and gambling is something we’ve become quite good at.
We follow our intuition.
But *most importantly??* We follow yours as well and your comfort level.
Our clients are typically people that follow their intuition also because those are the kind of people our mindset attracts. Those are OUR people!!! This day, our bride (the groom left it up to her- he was happy either way) let us know she’s a risk taker and willing to roll the dice but ONLY if we said yes because she trusted US. No one else there. She needed reassurance to follow her gut- don’t we all sometimes? Other people were trying to deter her intuition. To play it safe. To disregard the beautiful ceremony on the beach she wanted on her ONE big day that she and hubby-to-be just moved all other mountains for, and come up under the reception tent (beautiful space. Not ideal for a ceremony.) The last big “what if.” Would it be worth it or should she just “play it safe?” She KEPT looking to us for reassurance. So what did we say? First of all, we will ALWAYS say you get this day ONCE. So ultimately what you want the most is what we will go for. Weather be damned. That aside, our opinion on the weather? We *confidently* told her based off of how everything looks, the way the wind is moving, the way the radar is beginning to shift, if it were us… we’d risk it. Standing next to other people who kind of didn’t agree. We didn’t care. Because we cared more about the window of opportunity for this day to go exactly as planned. And we would roll those dice with her if that’s what she wanted. Now, it did help the bride understood the chance of rain still. But it was a risk she was personally willing to take to marry the love of her life the way they wanted. On beautiful Melbourne Beach, Florida surrounded by way more family and friends than I would’ve ever anticipated flying in from another country. So what happened??

Did our couple get rained out on Melbourne Beach, Fl on their one and only wedding day?
Guests sat, insane thunder was all around us to the south, the sky was super overcast, everyone was a little nervous (ok, a lot), we felt literally barely a few sprinkles, and as soon as the ceremony ended and photos were about to be taken THE SKY CLEARED!!!! Could you imagine if they listened to everyone else and ended up under the tent AND the sun came out? Or can you imagine asking someone for help deciding what to do and they leave it at *shrug* “There’s no way to know it’s just a risk. Can’t really say… Oh, well.” But then can you imagine your photography team not just being able to capture every moment, but walk you through the “what ifs” SUCCESSFULLY?! Because you’re not another day to them. Because they care?

What if the Melbourne Beach, Fl wedding of their dreams did get rained on?
“But, Faith… what if the sky fell out!? What would you have done then??” Then we were in it with them and would NOT have quit capturing, keeping an eye out for those amazing fleeting moments, or ran for cover. We are ready for those moments and so is our gear. If we’re with you. We’re with you all the way and to hold hands and give hugs where needed. Everyone deserves that level of care. Rain or shine, baby. We’re prepared and ready!
